Founding pilot terms
Clear expectations for an early service.
These public draft terms describe the intended Yellow Yellow founding-pilot relationship and remain subject to legal review before unrestricted launch.
Important
These terms are not yet the final launch contract.
YELLOW YELLOW MOBILITY LIMITED COMPANY was incorporated in Ghana on 6 September 2026 under registration number CS186560926. Incorporation does not itself open public onboarding, real payments or unrestricted ride operations. The applicable national-agency, local-authority, merchant, app-store and Ghanaian contractual reviews must still be completed. Questions may be sent to support@yellowyellowmobility.com. Invited testers may also receive specific pilot instructions that form part of their testing arrangement.
External participant testing is currently paused. A person who later accepts an invitation to the app-store feedback cohort agrees to follow the safety, privacy, account-security and service instructions shown in the app and supplied with the invitation.
Accounts
One verified person, one trusted phone session.
- Provide an accurate phone number, name and role information.
- Keep OTP codes, device access and account credentials private.
- A verified account begins in Passenger mode; Driver and Owner tools require current approved role access.
- Yellow Yellow may revoke an old device session when the same account is verified on a new authorised device.
- Driver access may not be lent, rotated or shared with another driver.
The authentication phone number is private and purpose-limited to sign-in, verification, account security and recovery. It is not shown to other Passengers, Drivers or Owners, and a new number requires verification and controlled recovery checks.
Ride service
A private booking, not public loading.
Yellow Yellow connects a passenger with an available approved driver for a selected pickup and destination. Availability is not guaranteed, and a request is not confirmed until a driver accepts and the app shows the assignment.
- A tricycle booking carries no more than three passengers in the rear passenger area.
- No passenger may sit in front, beside the driver or in the driver operating area.
- The driver may not add unrelated passengers during the booking.
- The passenger must provide usable pickup and destination information and be ready within a reasonable period.
- The driver may refuse or end a trip for a lawful safety, conduct, vehicle or route reason.
After the launch gates pass, tricycle is intended to be active across the Northern, Savannah, North East, Upper East and Upper West regional markets. Tamale is the controlled validation base, not the only selectable launch locality. A car or tricycle category is bookable only where its backend state permits it and a qualified matching Driver is online within the pickup boundary, so availability and waiting time are not guaranteed. Outside the Northern launch, car and tricycle discovery is supply-led and is not a claim of official local launch. Motorbike service is temporarily on hold and cannot currently be onboarded, quoted or dispatched, but it may be introduced later through a separately approved release. Yellow Yellow will not substitute a different vehicle type without the passenger choosing it.
Fares & payment
The accepted fare is shown before request.
The Northern Ghana launch uses Standard Google road distance without live traffic. Tricycles use GHS 2 plus GHS 2 per road kilometre, with a GHS 3 minimum. Cars use GHS 4 plus GHS 3 per road kilometre, with a GHS 6 minimum, which produces about one and a half times the tricycle quote on a normal route. The formula rounds once to whole Ghana cedis and locks before request. Actual trip time does not increase the accepted fare.
- The fare covers the selected passenger group within the permitted category capacity.
- Cash or an approved MoMo method may be offered according to market readiness.
- A driver must not demand an undisclosed charge or substitute a negotiated fare.
- Cancellation, refund and payment-dispute treatment will follow the policy displayed for the relevant released app version.
Access payments
No access payment is collected during the current hold or first feedback cohort.
No external participant cohort is currently active. After the applicable national-agency/MMDA process and app-store approval, Yellow Yellow plans a free invitation-only feedback cohort initially capped at 20 real people across Passenger, Driver and Owner roles. Payment-system development and live payment testing remain on hold while the incorporated Company completes approved merchant onboarding.
- When the cohort opens, every real participant must be invited and tied to a verified phone number. One person counts once even when approved for more than one role.
- Internal system-test accounts are separately labelled and do not consume a place in the 20-person real-participant cap.
- No checkout, MoMo prompt, USSD collection, payment receipt, payment clearing or access-plan revenue is created during this stage.
- There is no pilot reimbursement because a participant is never asked to pay for access.
- The proposed post-incorporation Standard schedule remains GHS 20 daily, GHS 100 weekly and GHS 350 monthly unless formally revised before payment launch. Owners use the Monthly period for each covered linked Driver.
- Payment development may resume only after company merchant onboarding, technical testing and approved legal, tax, finance and security controls.
A future invited participant who receives an unexpected request for an access payment, MoMo PIN, OTP or transfer should stop and report it through the official support channel.
Conduct
Respect applies on both sides of the ride.
Users must not threaten, harass, discriminate, commit violence, deliberately damage property, submit fabricated complaints, manipulate ratings, attempt fraud or use Yellow Yellow for an unlawful purpose.
Trip chat and approved masked or in-platform calling are for active ride coordination and related safety or support. They display names and roles, not phone numbers. Do not pressure another user to cancel, arrange a secretly completed off-platform ride, bypass an accepted request, manipulate records, or use another user's information for marketing, harassment or unrelated contact.
Drivers & owners
Access is account-bound and operations remain accountable.
Approved Driver access periods provide the same general tools and differ by duration and effective discount. Cars and tricycles use the same Standard access schedule: GHS 20 daily, GHS 100 weekly or GHS 350 monthly. Owners buy GHS 350 Monthly operating seats for covered linked Drivers. Yellow Yellow takes no percentage of passenger fares under this model. Live Traffic and Hybrid waiting are unpriced future capabilities and are not available during the first Northern Ghana launch.
- Free Test permits two accepted driver assignments in total.
- Daily, weekly and monthly Driver access belongs to the approved account and relationship, not to anyone holding the phone temporarily.
- Vehicle Owner tools require a Monthly operating seat for each covered linked Driver.
- Launch requests use Standard navigation. Northern Ghana tricycle requests use the five regional launch markets; growing car and tricycle requests elsewhere remain supply-led. Every offer still requires a qualified exact-type Driver within the pickup boundary. Access duration does not create artificial priority within the matching pool.
- A person who owns and drives the same vehicle may hold both approved roles on one verified account and link that vehicle through its approved relationship.
- An active, human-approved standby Driver may receive free Standard monthly access for a defined contract period. Ordinary eligible Drivers receive ordinary ranked requests first; standby supply is used only after the ordinary pool or when no ordinary Driver is available. A Passenger may still request a saved Driver directly.
- A new-tricycle Owner benefit is valid only under a signed seller agreement, verified new-vehicle purchase, approved Owner and vehicle, and recorded consent and evidence for approved stickers on both passenger doors.
- When authorised, only invited participants within the capped free feedback cohort may use live dispatch. No participant buys an access period during that stage.
- Owner monitoring is never automatic. Each request requires Driver acceptance, lasts no longer than 24 hours and may be revoked by the Driver.
- During accepted monitoring, Owners may see linked-vehicle movement plus aggregate completed-trip count and quoted fares for that window, but never Passenger identity, contact details, saved places or trip chat.
- Passengers and Drivers may optionally create and share a revocable live-trip link with a trusted contact. The user controls each send and remains responsible for the recipient selected.
- Document expiry dates are reminders and do not replace legal obligations or state-agency enforcement.
Availability
A pilot can pause, change or recover.
Maps, mobile networks, GPS, cloud services, payment providers and app stores can fail or produce delay. Yellow Yellow may pause a feature, category, account or market to protect safety, security, legality, data or service reliability.
The company will try to communicate material planned changes clearly, but it does not promise uninterrupted pilot availability or a driver for every request.
Account closure
A user may initiate account deletion in the app.
Account deletion closes service access and trusted-device sessions immediately. The user must first finish or cancel an active ride. Associated personal data is then erased or anonymised through the documented deletion process, except for narrowly limited records that must be retained for an applicable safety, dispute, fraud-prevention, financial, tax or regulatory purpose. The current process is explained on the account-deletion page.
Responsibility
Technology supports, but does not replace, safe judgement.
Drivers remain responsible for lawful and safe vehicle operation. Passengers remain responsible for their conduct and for not requesting unsafe capacity or seating. Vehicle owners remain responsible for lawful ownership or control and legitimate use of location oversight.
Yellow Yellow is not a police, ambulance, fire, medical or other emergency service. In immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency authority first.
Changes
Material terms will not be hidden.
These terms may change as the pilot, professional review and regulatory requirements develop. A material change should be dated and communicated through the app, website or another appropriate channel before it applies.
Ghanaian law and the final adopted dispute and governing-law terms will apply to the Ghana service. No internal policy or automated response overrides applicable law.
